Desktop Support and Network Administrator

Profile

Residential Science Resources is looking for a Desktop Support and Network Administrator to ensure the smooth running of company I.T. Systems. As a Network and Computer Systems Administrator, you*ll be installing, configuring and maintaining Windows, Mac and Linux servers, notebooks and desktops. You*ll be responsible for all our I.T. needs including running cables, managing the phone system, keeping a strict inventory and more. Responsibilities

* Respond to Desktop Support Incidents (Computer not booting, password resets, software not working, printer issues etc.)
* Maintain employee laptops and desktops (software and hardware upgrades, virus removal etc.)
* On board new employees (Phone setup, email setup, computer procurement and setup etc.)
* Manage and maintain Windows and Linux Servers (Group Policies, software updates, backups, antivirus.)
* Manage telecommunication systems (updates, backups, menu customization, implementation of new features.)
* Manage network infrastructure (VLANS, security, wireless, firewalls.)
* Manage online exchange server.
* Keep accurate software and hardware inventories and ensure all software licenses are in compliance.

Experience Guidelines

* 3 years of experience as a network administrator.
* Experience using and supporting Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications (experience with Mac OS X is a plus).
* Experience using and managing servers running Windows Server.
* Experience using and managing Linux machines.
* Knowledge and experience with various diagnostic tools used in troubleshooting PC hardware, software and network connectivity problems.
* Ability to configure, maintain and troubleshoot TCP/IP networks.
* Strong communication skills, including ability to listen, interpret and explain computer related concepts in non-technical terms.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
